ERE IS THE SHORT VERSION LOW-DOWN ABOUT US

Brad and Shannon are brother and sister. They are from Indiana and own a boat rental, convenience store, and a t-shirt printing shop. They are interested in sharing their fun stories, and what it’s like to own a business by age 30.

Shannon became a snowbird in the Florida Keys at age 22 and met Bill. They got hitched last year. Take a look!

Bill works for a charter boat that travels to awesome places half of the year and competes in fishing tournaments. He not only is a great mechanic (used to own his own shop in Philly), but is a great fisherman.

They all love the island laid back lifestyle and sharing their fun adventures and knowledge.

Follow us and hear all about our upcoming travels to the Bahamas, Ocean City, and more!

This might be the most random blog you have ever seen, but it also might be the most fun!

What We DO

Shannon

I graduated college back in ’06 with a degree in Psychology and Conservation and Environmental Science. I did internships throughout college traveling and trying to find out what exactly I wanted to do. I studied marine biology in Belize, did reforestation work in Hawaii, and worked with dolphins in the Bahamas.

Following college, I settled on wanting to go to grad school to work with dolphins. I first wanted to get my SCUBA Instructor certification, so I hopped in my car and headed for the Florida Keys. My 6-month internship has now turned into 10 years, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

After working for dive shops in the Keys for 8 years and getting married last year (check out our BEAUTIFUL Keys wedding) I decided to help Bill (he is the Captain) on the Fishbone and work for myself.

In the summer I continue to run Raccoon Lake Boat Rental, Tiki Hut Convenience Store, and Teeki Tees with my brother Brad. I love what I do and couldn’t be happier!

Growing up outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania I was lucky to be able to fish off the coast of New Jersey any chance I could.

After I graduated from high school I became a mechanic, and owned my own auto repair shop. My passion for fishing soon took over, and I traveled down to the beautiful Florida Keys to pursue a career in fishing.

I am a United States Coast Guard licensed captain. I have worked as both a captain as well as a mate for the past 12 years.

Starting out as deck hand really taught me the rules of the road, and eventually I moved up to running a charter boat. I then stepped back into being a mate/captain of a charter boat at Bud N’ Mary’s Marina named “Sachem”.

Wanting to travel, and move away from being a mate I started running the “Solutions” in February of 2009. In 2015 I began my career as Captain on the Fishbone.

I am a member of the Bass Pro Staff.

I am very knowledgeable, attentive, and love to share my passion and excitement for fishing

Not only have I fished from the New England area to the Gulf of Mexico, but I have fished most of the Caribbean, Costa Rica, and all over the inland United States as well

I am the Co-Owner of Teeki Tees, The Tiki Hut convenient store, and Raccoon Lake Boat Rental.

Not to brag but I was voted Parke County’s 2016 Young Leader of the Year, I am a board member on the Parke County Convention and Visitor’s Commission, board member on the Indiana Festivals Association, and was the director for the Parke County Bicentennial Committee.

I graduated from Indiana University with an English degree with a concentration in creative writing poetry.

I also own a bidet and consider it to be integral to my personality. Follow us for a possible bidet post! You won’t be disappointed.

Quirky Facts and Hobbies

Shannon

Everyone who knows me knows I absolutely love the water. I not only own Raccoon Lake Boat Rental, but bought my first personal ski boat when I was about 27-years old. In my spare time back in Indiana you can find me on the lake slalom or trick skiing.

In Florida I love to paddleboard in the mangroves and along the shoreline. I also love spearfishing, and try to go every chance I can. If you have never had lionfish for dinner you are really missing out. I also hop on the Fishbone with Bill and try to catch a swordfish or two.
